Secretary - Madina Public School

At the very outset with limited words at our command to express our indebtedness to the Almighty, whose eternal blessing, sublime presence and erudite guidance gave shape to our efforts in establishing this abode of learning. So it is with deepest sense of gratitude that we are attempting to reciprocate magnanimity He bestowed on us in making our dream come true.

Our vision to educate enlighten and empower has been tested over the last three decades and has proved to be effective and successful time and again accepted and appreciated by the community. The school which had a humble beginning in 1982 has grown in leaps and bounds branching out in various fields viz; Junior, Degree, & PG for Women, Engg, Pharmacy & MBA. Wings of ambition and roots of traditional has been the philosophy of M.P.S. which has successfully completed 30 years of imparting quality education for all and minority community at large. It has been making meaningful educational transformation and attempting to achieve academic excellence. The continuous effort to reinforce the commitment to achieve that extra mile helps students to discover and reach their personal goals in life. This is evident in the schools consistent show of excellent academic results in the SSC boards wherein the students have been securing 100% first classes consecutively for the last three decades.

As we complete 34 years of yeomen service what comes to my mind is that - Success comes to those who work hard and stays with those, who don't rest on the laurels of the past. We live today in a world that is so very different from the one we grew up in, the one we were educated in. The world today is changing at such an accelerated rate and we as educators need to pause and reflect to face the challenges that the future holds ? Questions such as these are factors that motivate us to go through a continuous process of reflection and hence we at MPS are implementing a well-balanced curriculum which blends in the right mix of theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure that the children who walk into the portals of our school will not just love their schooling but truly be educated and prepared to face life's challenges. It was Margaret Mead who said "Children must be taught to think, not what to think". It has been truly proved by madinites who have passed through these portals in the years gone by and have made great achievements. We honour the past, nurture the present and respect future responsibility to keep ourselves updated to contemporary trends with a futuristic vision. We offer enormous opportunity for interaction with top scholars, Alumni, Intellectuals, In the form of Guest Lectures to inspire the student community.

One of the striking features of Madina is the way it honours merit. To encourage the muslim Minority Gold and Silver Medals are given away every year to toppers from SSC to Post Graduate level in various disciplines.

We have continued with the tradition of carrying the Madina legacy of paying tributes to the eminent personalities viz. Raziuddin talent search award which was initiated in the year 2011 was a great success. This year also it drew an overwhelming response from 47 schools. It is held in the memory of Mr. K.M. Raziuddin, IRS who was twice selected in civil services, an exemplary young man of illustrious personality, a man having versatile qualities, a man embodying the finest values and the beacon of absolute honesty, compassion and commitment. He was the member of MEWS and was instrumental in establishing and nurturing the "Super School" a unique wing of M.P.S. He remains alive through his remarkable contributions to MEWS that shall continue to inspire all.

Another inspiring initiative is to conduct competitions in Essay writing and Elocution commemorating the birth anniversary of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad wherein cash prizes to a tune of Rs 5,000/-, Rs 3,000/- & Rs 2,000/- were awarded to the students.

I have been writing "Zara Gaur Keejiye" for the past 30 years to create an awakening among the Minorities for competitive exams and higher education which was started with an attempt to promote communal harmony and a competitive spirit. The society is the tenant of Majlis-e- shura and has always abided by the rules and regulations, laws and statute of every office but still some officials of some departments have alleged malapropism in our functioning which is totally fallacious and against our principles. Inspite of the adverse publicity and false allegations against our institution we have proven to be an epitome of righteousness, rectitude and fairness; thus setting an example to others. The school management has always taken keen interest, providing qualitative infrastructure, encouragement and unflinching support in growing and marching ahead in all avenues of the school's functioning.

We fortunately have a committed and supportive administrative staff, dedicated teachers, caring and co-operative parents, which blend harmoniously to create a child-centric school at M.P.S. It is natural to find in this ambience, the intensive use of a variety of thinking activities, strategies and group dynamics so that the classrooms become alive.

Aristotle once said that, "Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." Even as we impart education to match the advancement in technology and globalization, we march our children ahead with M.P.S. ethos of moral values and principles. We Endeavour constantly to instill these qualities in our children. We pride ourselves to help them grow and develop into sensitive and responsible citizens of the future.

This edition of the school magazine is a milestone that marks our growth, unfolds our imaginations, and gives lives to our thoughts and aspirations. It unleashes a wide spectrum of creative skills ranging from writing to editing and designing the magazine. I congratulate the editorial board on its tireless efforts in bringing out this publication of our school magazine.
